Alliance Monitoring is a leading security solutions provider in Latvia, offering protection to facilities across the country. The company wanted to improve its video surveillance system to enhance services and deliver better results to customers. They decided to pilot Axxon One VMS software, which resulted in reducing the number of false alarms by three times. Based on the pilot’s positive results, Alliance Monitoring implemented Axxon One VMS at all customer sites, including government security systems and city camera systems. Challenges
During the pilot phase, the main challenge was to compare Axxon One VMS with legacy video management systems and demonstrate its superiority in managing city security cameras and government building security systems. For the comparative tests, Alliance Monitoring wanted to apply basic motion and line-crossing detection without neural network tools. The company already had a set of cameras and decided to use the same camera models to maintain the integrity of the study.

Alliance Gis implemented Axxon One VMS for a comparative test against the existing system. The test was conducted overnight and showed up to 3 times less false alarms detected. Axxon One has proven to be more efficient and reliable than the legacy system, even with basic video analytics and no AI detection tools. As a result, Alliance Monitoring deployed the system across all customer sites. The implementation included 10 servers, 5 times more cameras than during the test, 2 video walls with 8 monitors each, and an administrator workstation. Existing NVRs were integrated to further optimize the system.
Results and Benefits
The implementation of Axxon One VMS has resulted in a threefold reduction in false alarms from city surveillance cameras, showcasing the effectiveness of this smart city surveillance solution. The security center significantly optimized operators’ workload and operational expenses, and now it uses 16 fewer monitors and 4 fewer client computers. The number of video cameras an operator can handle has increased 3 times and more. Through it all, Alliance Monitoring saves considerable costs on equipment, operator salaries, and electricity. By leveraging video analytics and reliable CCTV software, Alliance Monitoring successfully enhanced the efficiency and reliability of the city video surveillance infrastructure. Now they plan to expand the number of cameras by 3 times.
